Claws of Awaji Side Activities
Much like the base game, the Claws of Awaji DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows has a few side activities that you can engage in. This includes Viewpoints, Kata, Kuji-Kiri, and Kakurega.
Here is everything you need to know about these Side Activities and how to access them.
All Claws of Awaji Side Activities
As soon as you reach Awaji, you can explore freely. It is up to you whether you choose to go on a quest first or whether you want to tackle the Side Activities. There will be markers on the map, and the first Viewpoint is very close to where you disembark.
All Viewpoints in Claws of Awaji
In total, there are seven Viewpoints, also known as Synchronization Points, that can be found in Claws of Awaji. Some are spread far across the island, while others can be obtained very quickly after disembarking on the island. Much like the base game, these Viewpoints can be used as fast travel locations around the map.
Unlike the previous entries in the game, Viewpoints in Assassin's Creed Shadows don't unfog the map. However, while you are on the Viewpoint, you can observe your surroundings and use markers to map out key locations.
The seven Viewpoints are pretty spread out across Awaji Island, but are all relatively easy to access.
Iwaya Tenshu Viewpoint
The Iwaya Tenshu Viewpoint is found on the grounds of the Tenshu in the Eshima Coast subregion. It is quite dangerous, as there are guards everywhere. However, you can access this viewpoint with relative ease and go without being spotted.
Myoshoji Lookout Viewpoint
The Myoshoji Lookout Viewpoint is also found in the Eshima Coast subregion. This viewpoint is safe to access, as there are no enemies nearby. You can also access the Myoshoji Temple in this region if you want to collect theLost Pages there for XP and a Knowledge Point.
Sannomiya Lookout Viewpoint
The Sannomiya Lookout Viewpoint is one of two that can be found in the Sumoto sub-region. This is also a safe Viewpoint to access, and you will be able to see the Sannomiya Shrine if you observe while on the Viewpoint.
Sumoto Watchtower Viewpoint
There are a few enemies around Sumoto Watchtower, but you can avoid them by climbing up the rear side of the watchtower, which will allow you to access the Viewpoint without being spotted. This is the second viewpoint found in the Sumoto Bay sub-region. By observing, you will be able to see the Sumoto Hachiman Shrine, as well as a lot of the vendors in the city below.
Okunoin Sasayama Shrine Viewpoint
The Okunoin Sasayama Shrine Viewpoint can be found in the central Fukura Bay sub-region. From here, you can see the Yura Dike Shrine and Viewpoint in the east.
Fukura Hachiman Lookout Viewpoint
Fukura Hachiman Lookout Viewpoint is the second Viewpoint that can be found in the Fukura Bay sub-region. From here, you can see the Fukura Village and Fukura Hachiman Shrine.
Yura Dike Watchtower Viewpoint
There are a few enemies in this area, with one also being specifically within the watchtower. They are relatively easy to dispatch and can be handled stealthily or with force. This is the only Viewpoint in the Yura sub-region. From here, you can see the Yura Minato Shrine, as well as the Military Harbor, where there are some chests and resources to loot.
